Heineken® in association with 5FM are set to bring together Top South African acts with a full philharmonic orchestra for a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience

Heineken® is proud to announce its sponsorship of an unprecedented musical endeavor for its consumers. On August 21st, the Grand Arena at Grandwest Casino, Cape Town, will play host to an evening of epic musical entertainment; Symphonic Rocks.

For the first time ever on South African shores, some of South Africa’s top original musical acts will be paired with a full 65 piece symphony orchestra for a night of goosebumps and sublime musical artistry. With 65 classical instruments being played live alongside 6 of South Africa’s top playlisted local artists and bands, the logistics involved in writing all of the orchestral scores for this modern original music is awe-inspiring, as the show itself is expected to be!

The all-star line-up includes Flat Stanley, Just Jinjer, Louise Carver, Watershed , aKING & Gang of Instrumentals who will each be performing some of their most-loved hits. Backed by the intense power of a full orchestra, you will witness these bands taken to new and dizzying heights of musical prowess, and experience their songs in a way you never have before.

This musical extravaganza is the brainchild of Flat Stanley front man Andy Mac: ‘It has taken 6 years of dreaming and several months of planning to make this show happen. Now, with the help of Heineken and in association with 5FM, I am finally able to not only realize this dream, but also share it with some of our musical friends as they join us for this one night spectacular in Cape Town. It wasn’t easy to pull this off, but I absolutely can’t wait to see people’s reactions”.
